Can I install Autocad 2020 on Windows 10 home?

I've been trying for a week to install it onto my newly bought PC but nothing seems to work. I've tried all download/install methods several times and I still cannot figure out what is going wrong. My teacher has suggested that it might be because I have the home version of windows and since I saw no posts talking about this specifically I thought I'd ask directly.

I can be more specific if you have questions but I've tried so many ways that it'd take too long to go through everything and I'm hoping there's a simple fix.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for your time, I tried some of these and I'm not getting any further.

>i suggest to try using the Autodesk Virtual Agent (AVA)

The AVA doesn't understand my question, it keeps talking to me about home licences.

>or other ways as mentioned here . >> Click <<

I have already tried everything on this page.

>you can check here System requirements for AutoCAD . >> Click <<

I have been there as well and it doesn't tell me whether the home/pro distinction is relevant.

  • Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit only) (version 1803 or higher)

>>>..nothing seems to work...<<<
That means nothing to any of us over here: what are the error messages you get?

OR do you need a more detailed description of how to install the software like this https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Installing-Autodesk-prod...

Without your installation log file we can only speculate what the issue is at this point.  So attach your installation file here so we can review it.

Posting info: Sometimes the installation log file contains the serial # that was assigned to you.  Open your log file using Windows Notepad and perform a search on "/SN".  Depending on the number of installation attempts, your serial # may be located throughout the log file.  If present, remove or "X" out your serial # prior to posting.

I know this isn't clear but I'm not exactly sure what to say because I've tried everything I could and I always had a different issue.

I try the standard download and either it just stops for no reason, the time get exponentially longer, the total weight of the expected file changes (!) or it just says it's done but then when I try it I'm told it wasn't installed properly and I need to do it again.

That's only one of the ways I've tried it and I've had other issues with the other methods as well.

I've had many different error messages but I didn't save them. I also uninstalled everything earlier today so that I could start from nothing again.

I'm currently trying to use AutoCAD_Electrical_2020_French_Win_64bit_dlm_001_002.sfx to install it but I get this error message anytime I try to open it.

That means you didn't download all the parts.   There are 2 parts.  You only downloaded part 1.

OK, I had no idea there were 2 parts; I got this one from my teacher.  I'll have to try again with him on monday.

I just tried another way ( using AutoCAD_Electrical_2020_English_Win_64bit_dlm ) and it tells me it's all done but when I click Launch Now nothing happens.

Do you see the AutoCAD application icon on your desktop?

If you go into Control Panel/Program and Features/add & remove program do you see the AutoCAD application listed there?

Yes, it appears to be installed but I can't find a way to launch it.

But no desktop icon?

Something tells me its not properly installed because there's no size listed in your image.
