Without Admin Account With Admin Account
I tried to install Maya 2018. I already have 2020 but need this version for a reason.
1) Tried downloading from the account section of the site and used browser download method.
2) Tried downloading from AVA.
3) Disabled anti-virus, windows security, defender, disconnected internet, cleared the TEMP, %TEMP.
4) Used the account I always use and also one more time with the admin account.
5) Tried every possible solution available on Autodesk Forum regarding Maya 2018 fail, 1603, 1619
6) The error message that it gives, tried checking if the file exists or not and it does exist.
I'm posting both the setup log and the installation log.

The error that trigger the rollback is:

Check the video I provided, I verified there that the file exists, and also I wrote about that error in #6 that the file indeed exists. @m_latz

Hello @silverore3 ,
just tried with the same parameters and got the same error:
But if I copy my installation sources to a shorter path, then the installation works. So I recommend to shorten your path to your installation sources, then it should work.

@m_latz Hmm, that is a very weird workaround. Ok, I'll try that and let you know. Autodesk probably has the buggiest installations among all other software in the world.

@silverore3 but the error you got is a native windows installer error. This is Microsoft.
The internal limit for a "full path name" is 260 character and the "full path name" length in your case is 261.

@m_latz Yeah, this error did trouble me a lot when I was installing Visual Studio Community. However, in the case of Maya, from that error message, it is highly unlikely anyone would be able to narrow down the reason to this "name path length" limitation. I did try the installation this time by placing the files in a shorter name path and it worked. Thanks a lot. By the way, how to determine if my length path is within 260 characters? Do I need to count the number of letters or something?

@silverore3 I agree with you it is difficult to get the real path length from the installation sources to prevent that error. But I am sure that in the future if you get a similar error messages you try with a shorter path.
Or ask the community here.
Have a nice day.
