Autodesk License Transfer Utility Error 40

Hi I am having trouble transfering a license from one company computer to another.

 

Product: Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2015

Serial Number: ***-********

Product Key: *****

 

Export Request Failed 

This serial number is invalid (40)

Click the "Try Again" link to resubmit the request.

Error reference:40

 

So I've been digging around on the forums to try and come up with a solution. Some people are saying that this error is a result of having the software running on too many computers. Others are saying its a result of trying to transfer an old license to another computer when a new version is ready.

 

We are using a subscription based license.
