I have created an administrative install this year as we have done in the past. However, this year I am finding that even with the /norestart flag our client machines are forcing a reboot. Has anyone else had this issue and found a resolution? I read through some articles/forums about having the pre-reqs previously installed before Inventor which I have tried and still the same outcome.
The pre-reqs I manually installed and rebooted before the Inventor install were;
.NET Framework 4
VCRedist 2005 SP1
VCRedist 2008 SP1
VCRedist 2010
I also noticed a line in our Inventor2012.ini that was built under 3rd Party Components stating "REBOOT_MODE=FORCE". Does anyone have more information on what I can replace this property with (ie - NONE, SUPPRESS)? I have also added the REBOOT=ReallySuppress into the 3rd Party EXE_PARAM sections but that causes the Inventor install itself to fail worse than originally ran. At lleast before those changes it would install it just would reboot unexpectedy.
Any information and/or help is appreciated.
if it is on Windows XP, directx installation(failure) could be forcing the reboot
please try to run the dxsetup seperately and check if it helps.
