Autodesk Deployment 2018 Addin extraction issue

Hello Guys,

I have two issue with creating Autodesk deployment images for 2018.

Issue 1:

When I tried to add A360 Desktop to deployment images the update option in the deployment application is not getting the latest A360 desktop.

I tried to download the latest version of the A360 desktop and add it as additional software. When i try to use the deployment image to install, it is showing the following prompt

AutoCAD_18122017 (005).jpg20-12-2017 4-55-50 PM.png

I want to install this unattended how do it do it?

Issue 2:

Revit steel connections when adding to Revit 2018 deployment image, it is showing the following extraction screen.

How do I install without user interaction.

Hello @raghulan,

Welcome back & thank you for posting.

Please review the following information regarding deployment creation options depending on your set up.

Options & Parameters for Deployment commands

When adding MSI, MSP and EXE installers to the Additional Software section of an Autodesk deployment

Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for your reply,

I solved the a360 installing by adding /q command line parameter.

But the advanced steel dynamo addin is still showing the close popup after the addin is installed. Even if I add /q to command line.

Could you let me know how do I add add dynamo addin to adv steel deplpyment image that would be great.

Hello @raghulan,

The Dynamo for Advanced Steel 2018 is a .exe. Please review the information below.

Adding EXE to a deployment:

When dealing with EXE, run the EXE. The installer will extract files to the default location C:\Autodesk\. After the installer has opened completely with a window to continue the installation, choose Exit to close and cancel the installation. In each of the folders found in C:\Autodesk  - titled similarly to their corresponding add-in installer name – there is the folder /x64 and in that folder another folder whose title differs. Within that last folder is the MSI file that will need to be added to the Additional Software section of the deployment.

  • Some MSI installations may fail if the files and folders that were in the same folder where the MSI file was originally found are not present. Copy those files and folders to the same folder where the MSI resides - \Img\ADDONS.
  • Some EXE installers that do not extract may give the option of adding a /q switch in the Command Line Parameters for the EXE file you are adding to install silently.
  • Some EXE installers can be converted to a MSP
    Example command line : C:\temp\c3dsp1.exe /e c:\temp\c3dsp1.msp
