Autodesk CFD 2019 Crashes on Launch

Ok, so I am a student and I recently downloaded Autodesk CFD 2019 Ultimate under my student license. When I installed the product, I finished, rebooted my computer, and attempted to launch CFD. The CFD initialization window appears for a few seconds, and then disappears. I get no dialogue boxes, no prompts, and I have even tried running it as an administrator. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's a big discussion about this https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/cfd-2019-does-not-start/td-p/7955649.  There's some solutions there but it appears it doesn't help everyone.  I would start there.

Hello @Asuydydam,

Some of our other Student users have resolved this by using a Browser Download method this is preferred especially in environments where you have limited or restricted internet access, have you tried this method & prepared your system for a download & install.

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation attempts & use the MSfixitTool to complete it
  2. Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background
  3. Log in as Administrator (check your permissions, full control) or create a new profile
  4. Make sure you have a strong connection & good internet speed
  5. Clean out the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter (Windows)
  6. Temporarily disable security settings like Antivirus, Firewall & UAC on your Windows operating system
  7. Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

These steps worked for me for one exception- the browser download method downloaded the wrong (32 bit) version on my 64 bit Win 10 system (don't know how), and I used AutoDesk Download Manager instead. Which worked.

@natasha.l  @Anonymous    I'm having same problem... Well, sometimes the install doesn't even show up in the Applications folder after the install.  Is there a solution?

That didn’t work. The application doesn’t even show up.
After re-install the the only thing that appeared in the Applications folder was
/Autodesk/Adlm/R15/LMU.app and the
/Autodesk/Adlm/R15/LTU.app

The tmp directory got repopulated with a whole bunch of stuff
