Not sure what XML you provided here..   But we would need the actual installation log file located in your personal temp (%temp%) folder.

We don't need XML files..  We need the files that have a .log extension..

Thanks for updating your original posting..

 

It you were using the off-line installer (Autodesk Virtual Agent) you wouldn't be having this problem..  But you are still using the web installer method.

 

Download and install per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

If you want the full recommended installation steps, click on the installation link in my signature.

However if the installation does fail using this method, please post your installation log file here so we can review it.  Posting info: Sometimes installation log files contain personal information such as your serial #.  Prior to posting your log file please make sure to remove such info.

Because you have not implemented the recommendations of @Mark.Lancaster

You have to download full installation package of AutoCAD 2017 and then run first exe-file.

Do you have a 32bit machine or 64bit operating system?  You are downloading and installing 32b AutoCAD.   Just want to make sure.

 You have to  enable full installation logging: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/223300/how-to-enable-windows-installer-logging

Unfortunately I did not find any errors in the log-files. It seems that it's not all log-files.

What kind of error you see in dailog?

Hello @pmAOW01,

 

Welcome. Sorry to hear you are encountering an issue trying to install AutoCAD 2017, please try the following: 

 

  • Make sure you have an updated graphics card driver by visiting the manufacturer's website
  • Operating System has the latest updates
  • In Windows Explorer, delete the contents of your Windows Temp folder, but do not delete the Windows Temp folder itself. You can locate the Temp folder by entering %TEMP% in the Search bar of Windows Start
  • Temporarily disable antivirus & firewall, use End Task feature to end the anti-virus software that could be running in the background
  • If the above does not resolve the issue, continue with a Clean Uninstall of the product and downloaded via Autodesk Virtual Agent and install the product again

Hello @pmAOW01,

 

Sorry for the frustration and I understand that troubleshooting issues are timely but they are necessary to get you up and running. I would try using AIDA logs to troubleshoot installation errors. 

 

1. Download the installation executable from the following link to download AIDA.

2. Double-click the executable and click the “Install” button

3. Accept the license agreement and click “next”

4. Click the “Install” button. The install should complete in 1-2 minutes. Click “finish” when complete

5.Launch AIDA. The one click functionality should detect the most recent install log file containing errors and provide an output HTML file.

6.If the utility is unable to detect a log file with errors, you can click the "load logs" button and manually locate the log which will have a naming convention of "[Product Name] Setup.log" for the product that had the install failure.

7.If the utility is unable to provide you with a solution, click the "Create Zip File Button" to save a zip file with all the logs and analysis associated to with the install.

8.Please attach that zip to your reply.
