Solution 1 :

- Do not start AAM with Windows

- Start it manual, by "Right clic" > "Run as administrator"

- Enter password if needed.

Solution 2 :

If you have administrator (or Power user) privileges on your PC (Windows session) :

- Access to the "Start Menu" folder, and locate the AAM Shortcup.

On my PC, this folder :

"C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Autodesk\Autodesk Application Manager\Autodesk Application Manager.lnk"

- Right-clic on the shortcut (.lnk file) > Properties

- Go to Compatibility tab

- Check the "Run this prgramm as administrator" (or something like that) box.

Each time Windows will launch this application, it will use this shorcut. The AAM will automaticaly starts with administrator privileges.

Does it helps ?

Quote: "" Solution 1 : - Do not start AAM with Windows - Start it manual, by "Right clic" > "Run as administrator" - Enter password if needed. "" I use this approach as a temporary solution. The problem persists when using a standard user account in Windows, here Windows 8.1 and 7. The AdAppMgrSvc.exe is present, version 5.0.142.0. The Service is up and running, error persist with standard user account. Before i updated the AAM to Version 5.0.142.0 it has worked without problems with a limited (standard) account. Is a final solution available for standard account users ? regards a.schier

Hi all, is there any news on the subject. Yesterday I deployed the Autodesk ECS 2016 Ultimate on our computers only to discover the AAM bug. It even happens, on multiple computers, when I log in on a computer with an account which has the admin privilege. The AAM error popup still appear. We are running Windows 7 Ent SP1 x64 French and we are a school so it's not in our best interest to give our students admin privilege. And I would very much prefer if I didn't have to disable or modify the permissions on the AAM. Thanks in advance for your help! Guillaume

Hello

for the moment there is only a temporary solution until an Update for the AAM is available from Autodesk.

You´ve got to start the AAM manualy with Admin rights local on each PC.

And from Autodesk we don't hear anymore to the Problem with the AAM...

Regards

a.schier

Do Autodesk staff have any idea when this will be fixed?

I work in big company, and can't have administrator previleges granted, so my AAM still won't work.

Tried to uninstall and install again.

Hello there,
I should probably open a new topic for this problem, but it could be the same as original poster's one.

I can't manage to make the application run, even with use of admin mode on the AdAppMrg.exe (5.0.142.14)
I get this message:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Shared\AppManager\R1\AdAppMgrSvcStub.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f. "

I tried to reinstall but he cant install on a "newer" version, so I try to unistall first with config panel and get

"Installer payload initialization failed. This is likely due to an incomplete or corrupt download file."

Ok lets go to windows support too ! I try the fixit app, but it doesn't find the AAM in my programs at all !

I also found myself in the limbs of the registry looking for an authorization mistake, so,
execute "regedit",
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion, Uninstall.
And there, i find infos about all my programs, even revit and other autodesk stuff, but nothing about the AAM 😞

So here i am, where do I go next ?

Thank you very much for trying to help.

Hi,

You can create a batch file (.bat) with these ligns :

***************************************************

@Anonymous off

cls

call taskkill /F /IM "AdAppMgr.exe"
net stop AdAppMgrSVC
RD %Programdata%\Autodesk\SDS /S /Q
call "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AppManager\R1\removeAdAppMgr.exe" --mode unattended

pause

***************************************************

(change the path if necessary)

Turn UAC off, quit antivirus.

Save locally the batch, run as admin. I will uninstall AAM.

Does it works ?
