Autodesk 2016 Content Service Will NOT Install Correctly

I installed the 2016 Product Design Suite Ultimate this weekend and after the installation I noticed that something was constantly running in the background that was taking the focus away from whatever program I was in.  I'd be typing an email and suddenly the focus would leave the application and I'd have to click in the application to regain focus only to lose it again 30 sec. later.  I opened task manager and clicked the process tab and I could see that the Content Service was constantly appearing and disapearing.  I then opened the Autodesk Content Manager and it displayed a error.  I then reinstalled the service with no change.  I then uninstalled the service and the problem was no longer present.  I then went back to my Suite install app and selected the Installation Tools button and selected only the Autodesk Content Service and installed it again.  The same problem came back with the service stealing my focus.  I have again uninstalled the service and have a completely functional laptop again.

 

Can anyone help me with with this issue or is the Autodesk Content Service something I'd never miss?

Hi Chris,

 

We've gotten a few similar reports from other customers. You can just uninstall Autodesk Content Service since you'll likely never notice it's missing. It indexes items in Content Explorer, so you might notice searches in Content Explorer taking slightly longer but there shouldn't be any other effect.

My company is experiencing this same issue on several machines since we started migrating to AutoCAD 2016.  Is there any progress on getting a fix for this issue?

Our company was experiencing the same focus problem with Windows 7 64bit and uninstalling fixed the problem.  Thank you for posting the solution!

Is there a setting in the Infrastructure Design Suite where I can choose not to install the Content Service?
