AutoCAD Land Desktop 2009 closes

I'm posting here because this is a new installation and the program won't run.

I'm trying to install it to recover some old proprietary databases that only Land Desktop will read.

I'm creating a deployment from the original installation media. After the first failure I copied the CD to may computer and created another deployment from there. I have a license for Civil 3D 2009 in our License file. That should cover Land Desktop Companion 2009

Our OS is Windows 7. I believe that I've had Land Desktop Companion 2009 running on Win 7. Here is the error I see.

ex1.PNG Terribly informative.

I've reviewed the Installation log. I'm not that familiar with them. I didn't see anything I could identify as the specific problem. But there seem to be a lot of problems. I'll attache the log files. If anyone could spot an issue or tell me where to look further. I'd appreciate it.

When you see the message like that you should review your Windows Event logs (system and application) around the time the message appeared.  Look for warning and errors.

The log is showing that it has issues with opening files in the deployment location.

@Mark.Lancaster  Yes. The Application Log does tell me the program failed.

Aplication log Event ID: 1000

Error:
Faulting application name: acad.exe, version: 23.2.56.0, time stamp: 0x47ae9f2d
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0x80000002
Fault offset: 0x777a8658
Faulting process id: 0x21f0
Faulting application start time: 0x01d5415cfd918b5c
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoCAD Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion 2009\acad.exe
Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: 3f213c0c-ad50-11e9-9cc7-54bf648fc62c

I can't see any reason in that. Nothing in the system log.

I gave myself Full control over the directory the installation is in and did a repair. The program seemed to get a little further but still failed. I think this is a lost cause.

Thanks for taking a look.

Thanks. I've already tried that. Still not working. I found my old computer that had it installed as a trial. Tried to find out how to convert that to a network install. But the Registry structure has changed from 2009 and I couldn't find the correct value to change.

Yes. They have almost the exact key I need to change.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R17.1\ACAD-6013:407\AdLM

But 17.2 instead of 17.1. However I don't find that in the Registry. I've searched for Adlm and for 17.2 and don't find anything close to it.

I must have installed it on that machine 4 or 5 years ago. I think I would have installed it as a trial since it now tells me the license has expired. But the Registry entries should still be there. Land Desktop Companion 2009 only gets installed when we need to recover an old project.

I'm considering whether to uninstall it from the old computer and try to reinstall it. Or just give up and do without the information I want. I'm two days down this rabbit hole already.
