AutoCAD Error 53 when trying to open accoreconsole

Hi @VinodBalasubramanian,

Sorry to bring back this very dead thread but I just spent 3 hours doing the clean uninstall you mentioned and got rid of ACAD2020 (and a lot of other clutter AutoDesk put on my machine. At least 60GB of data) because I had the same error as OP:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/download-install/remove-products/clean-uninstall

I then installed AutoCAD2021 but the accoreconsole still shows the same error.

I want to implement the coreconsole into one of our testing processes because i figured it would be way faster than the normal installation with the interface but unfortunately I can't even get it to run on my machine.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

System:
Win10 Pro(V10.0.18362)

i7-8650U

16gb RAM

Edit: Apparently this was moved because I was in the wrong forum. For anyone interested who "OP" was in my original post see this:

Hello @andreas.koelsch

This error is associated with inaccessibility to system locations. Please try the following steps below to help resolve this issue.

  1. Set up the application to run as Administrator, Local administrator rights and running Autodesk software | AutoCAD ...

run as admin2jpg.png

  1. Create a New User Profile with Full Control permissions to test the application
  2. Temporarily disable security settings or remove Antivirus, Firewall, VPN & UAC on your Windows operating system. Your Antivirus or other security applications should assign exceptions to run Autodesk software or be removed

Hi @natasha.l,

I tried both of your approaches but the error code stayed the same.

1. Set the program to run as administrator but didn't work.

1. Created a local administrator and logged in from a local domain (we usually only ever use a domain with an AD) but didn't work.

2.  In this local administrator (see screenshot) I run the powershell as admin (upper left), set the UAC to "no notifications" (lower left), de-activated all firewall activity (upper right) and set the Antivirus to halt "Realtime-Datasecurity" (lower right). Still got the same error code 53.

I was also trying to start it on one of our VM's which is running acad2018 and in there it works really well (the vm's use the same Antivirus software).

So it might have something to do with

a) AutoCAD version

b) something buried deep inside my local registry, or

c) hardware related (improbable in my opinion)

If you have any further ideas please advise and thank you for your help.

Hello @andreas.koelsch

You mentioned a domain account, please review the folders & registries required during installation & activation, also make sure the application is set to run as administrator.

Please review the section "Testing strategy for failures when running as a restricted user" in this article.

Also, consider temporarily uninstalling  Antivirus or other security features.

Hello All,

To wrap this up at least for me:

It turned out that my machine was cluttered with old Registry entries from Autodesk like I suspected.

What I did was to do a clean uninstall as described earlier. After that I got a little tool from the web which is more efficient at finding registry entries than the registry editor (The one I used is called "regScanner". Please be advised that you do this on your own risk and neither Autodesk nor I are responsible for any damage this might do. Fiddling with the registry might seriously damage your machine!).

After the first search it found ~7.000 entries for "Autodesk" on my machine and ~ 3.500 entries on a testing vm which never had another version on it before (I just did that for comparison.).

I then deleted all of the entries because I didn't have any other Autodesk products on my machine and after a reboot and a new install of AutoCAD it worked flawlessly.

So this answer is a bit late as I had other stuff to do but this solution still took me four weeks to figure out. As I mentioned before my suspicion was that there was something fishy with the registry entries. It would be a huge improvement for the users if Autodesk could figure out what they put in the registry and why. Also why it doesn't delete ANY entries after or during Uninstall.

If you are experiencing Error 53 in the accoreconsole then ensure that "acadiso.dwt" resides in the specified Template file path.
