Hi guys , i am a bit new to this app , I installed the Autocad 2020 and when the app runs more than 5 mins , the entire computer freezes , ( The freezing process usually starts in the Autocad app , it means that i could access task manager at first but unable to close the app , then the freezing process cascades to the entire windows and at the end i had to shutdown the laptop with the power button unfortunately) . I tried tons of solutions but non of them worked . Here i am gonna explain my laptop spec and the solutions i tried . I will be happy if you could help me with my problem .
Laptop spec :
Asus gl553
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics
Ram 16G
Cpu corei7
Windows 10
Solutions :
- reinstalled the Autocad more than 5 times .
- Set NVIDIA app to use the high performance mode (and also the graphic ) for Autocad application always
- tried Autocad 2019 ,
- updated graphic driver
- reinstalled .NET framework
- reinstall Visual C++ ( all the previous versions)
- SFC ScanNow command in cmd
- Disk clean up
- Microsoft fixit in order to uninstall the older versions properly
I tried to avoid reinstalling windows , cause its not a choice for me at the moment.
I have also searched and read every single article and discussion in this context and i think i couldn't delve deeper into this problem.
Tnx for help !
What video card driver are you using for this:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics
Don't use the newest ones .. you want to use an older one

Also what do you have for an Anti-Virus and firewall?
Hello @Anonymous
When you mentioned the 2019 version of AutoCAD. Did you manage to get these version to run?
The only thing that I have in mind at the moment as you did all the steps I normally will do to sort out these issue. Is that the 2020 version used a new Licensing method. Can you check under your Services if the Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service is running? if not try to start it.
If you get an error starting these Service could you tell us what error you get. An other poit is if you have an Antivirus that maybe could case conflict with AutoCAD.
Ps: Can you check in the Event Viewer if you can see any errors or warning regarding AutoCAD?
Wish you all a nice day
