AutoCAD 2018 licensing issue on Windows 7

Hello everyone,

I have basically the exact problem mentioned here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/No-Let...

(In short: I don't get the login option when trying to license our AutoCad 2018 installs)

BUT, this only occurs on Windows 7 Clients. The clients in our organization need a proxy server address to access the web. We have two proxies set up. A restricted one for basically every user and a completely non-restrictive proxy for admin purposes. On Windows 10 devices, the licensing process via login is available with both, the restrictive and non-restrictive one active. On Windows 7 Clients it's not available, no matter the proxy settings.
Fortunately we have a second gateway which has no proxies in front (obviously not a acceptable solution for productive use, only for testing). Accessing the Licensing servers via the completely unfiltered gateway, the AutoCad Login on Win7 clients works.

This seems like The AutoCad 2018 installation is exclusively ignoring proxy settings on Windows 7 but not on Windows 10.

Has anyone had similar issues? Is there a solution to this problem, other than using a third party proxy tool like proxifier?

Thanks in advance for all replies,

Alex

Hello @Anonymous,

Thanks for posting.

Microsoft has discontinued the Windows 7 operating system, please review our Product Lifecycle documentation.

Product support lifecycle:

"To be eligible for support, the Autodesk software must run on vendor-supported operating systems. If a vendor discontinues support for an operating system, we also discontinue support for Autodesk products running on that operating system, whether or not the products are among the eligible previous versions."

Autodesk products & services will no longer be designed to run on operating systems that the vendor discontinues.
