AutoCAD 2017 crashing on windows 10

Hello,

I have an a setup where I have a C# application that is passing a script to autocad and it is modifying/saving a drawing.

The issue is we recently upgraded to win10 from win7. I noticed that the c# application is hanging because it is waiting for autocad to complete. The odd thing is autocad is crashing when it gets to the quit part of the script. Windows event viewer logs a crash:

Faulting application name: acad.exe, version: 27.0.52.0, time stamp: 0x56b6cb23
Faulting module name: acad.exe, version: 27.0.52.0, time stamp: 0x56b6cb23
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000002c0455
Faulting process id: 0xb6b8
Faulting application start time: 0x01d75c128a6530e7
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017\acad.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2017\acad.exe

For some reason this crash is messing with my application. I've tried some google kung fu but this problem is not coming up. I found a log that had this error for autocad (

Not sure if this is related to my issue. Is there a way to get a more detailed crash report? Or does anyone recognize this issue? I am running this in a win10 VM.

Hello @Anonymous,

I would make sure that your installation of Windows 10 was successful without any errors and also make sure by contacting the Virtual software manufacturer you are using to make sure it was not corrupted in the process.

Once you confirm that the operating system is sound and that the virtual machine is also working properly I would then focus on your Autodesk application., based on the information you shared this issue started right after the Windows install so I believe that's your root issue.
