AutoCAD 2016 would not open in Windows 10

Hey guys,

I have a huge problem regarding my AutoCAD 2016 installation after I had upgraded to Windows 10.

First, the AutoCAD program that I had installed was not installed properly and I got redirected to an error page where it said that a software problem had caused AutoCAD 2016 to stop working. Nevertheless it was marked as completed so I tried to open it. The splash screen loads, but after that, the program crashes. That meant thatcould not access the activation page and actually start opening my projects.

Other Autodesk programs are working fine. It's just this program that is not working. I had uninstalled of the Autodesk Content in the computer and even went to the registry to delete all the Autodesk Files.

Computer Specs: Acer Aspire ES1-512-P0SY

OS Version: Windows 10 

Graphics: Intel (R)HD Graphics

It looks like you're unable to launch AutoCAD 2016 after installation. This issue may occur due to AutoCAD running on DirectX 11 instead of DirectX 9. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

looks like the helpbot got into the liquor cabinet again - totally missed the part about "Windows 10". SP1 for Acad 2016 might help or solve this issue - I can't say for sure since we're not running 2016 yet but there's a post about SP1 making 2016 compatible with Win10 made recently. HTH

I had installed the update, but it still doesn't work. I'll try the first solution.

Even with the DirectX 9 setting was applied (1st reply to the solution), the application still crashed. I think this is a new problem that I haven't seen in the other Autodesk Applications before. I still haven't received any solutions from the Autodesk CER in the mail so I'm suspecting that this might be one.

Anyone with a solution? I'm still facing all the problems in the computer even after installing and reinstalling.
