AutoCAD 2007: Software center/regular install "Install initialization failed"

Hello,

I'm trying to create a package on software center for AutoCAD 2007. I followed instructions provided by AutoDesk here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-lt/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-t...

This is the command line I used for the deployment: AdminImage\deploy.exe /W /Q /I AdminImage\Setup.ini /Lang en-US

When running the install through the software center, it fails with the error attached. When running the install manually using deploy.exe it also fails with the popup attached. The only workaround we've found was to create a shortcut that points to the deploy.exe

We are currently using Windows 7/10 (Which aren't in the specifications for the application) and are only able to install it manually.

If anyone has seen this issue or have any ideas/advice to troubleshoot that would be awesome 🙂

Thank you,

Patrick

Hello @Anonymous,

You may just want to try a different download method. If you used a download now or install now you want to try a more effective method called browser download.

Run through the steps below:

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall
  2. Log in as an Administrator
  3. Empty your TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter
  4. Temporarily disable your Antivirus software & Firewall
  5. Temporarily disable UAC:  Windows 7 , Windows 10
  6. Use Browser Download Method from Autodesk Account or via the Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

Please keep us posted on the progress you have made.

When I first came across this posting I was thinking it was AutoCAD 2017..

So you are trying to create a deployment for a 11 yr old product for a newer operating system like Win 7 and 10.

These legacy versions will not function properly on these operating systems.

Hello @Anonymous,

If the title isn't a typo then that is correct. If you are trying to deploy & install this version on newer operating systems like Windows 7-10 that is the issue.

Please review the system requirements before attempting to download & install. Thank you.
