Activation Process Fail

Dear Autodesk team,

 

After installing Sketchbook 2018, when I click in the Enter a Serial Number button the app closes down and nothing else happen. Do you have any report from some else? I am using Win 10 professional.

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community...

 

Do you have full control of C:\Programdata\Autodesk\CLM directory?  Is there one there?  C:\Programdata is a hidden folder and you may need to adjust your viewing options.

 

Also this a user based forum and its not Autodesk.  Just wanted to let you know in case you're thinking you are working with Autodesk directly.

Hi Mark,

 

Ok, nice to know that, I got redirected here from twitter so it is fine, any help is good and welcome.

 

I followed that root and this is what I got. LGS it has another folder with numbers inside but that is empty and the V5 just contain logos and icons.

In that LGS/871JI sub-folder, open notepad and create a file called LGS.DATA.  In that file add the wording as is _STANDALONE.   Save the file and make sure it didn't get saved as LGS.DATA.TXT.   Launch your application again and pick serial #/product key.  What happens then?

Ok..  Next step..  Perform a license reset now...

 

Please note, folders of C:\Programdata and C:\Users\[Username]\Appdata (listed below) are hidden folders and you may need to adjust your viewing settings.

 

First make sure you're signed out of the desktop app and A360 (both are located in your Windows system tray

 

On your computer, navigate to

 

2017 Version: ​​C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<Product_Key>_2017.0.0.F  [<Product Key> is the product key of the application you have]

 

2018 Version: ​​C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\CLM\LGS\<Product_Key>_2018.0.0.F  [<Product Key> is the product key of the application you have]

 

Delete the LGS.data file you just created.
Navigate to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ folder
Delete the ADUT folder and it's contents

 

 

 

When you start the application, it will prompt you to choose one (that matches your license) of the following:

Login - 30 day trial or CLIC (Cloud Based) licenses
Serial Number - Students, Standalone and Single-User Term Based activation
Network - Network License server for obtaining licenses from a machine on your network

Good luck and report back on your progress

Hi Mark,

 

It crash again, but now I need to run the program as administrator to open it. When it arrives to the enter serial number it crash again.

I still struggling with this activation license. I am wondering when it will be worth it to uninstall it and try again.
