Is it necessary to have an activation code if running the free student AutoCAD software?? Not sure why I cannot install, Actually added memory today to make sure I had ample space and still no luck. Can anyone help or suggest????

Yes, is necessary. At least after the trial period.

If you can't install via this download manager, then get the installation files from Autodesk Virtual Agent >>>click<<< and then use the local files to run the setup. When you start the software you can activate it using your serial you've got in the (student) subscription center.
