3ds max installation failed

 Hello everybody,

I just tried installing 3ds max and it fails. I don't want to post the full installation log as I don't know which parts contain private information, but these are the last 5 lines and they seem to be relevant:

2017/7/10:20:19:11 USER_NAME PC_NAME Installing .NET Framework Runtime 4.6: "C:\Autodesk\WI\Autodesk 3ds Max 2018\3rdParty\NET\46\wcu\dotNetFramework\dotnetfx46_full_x86_x64.exe" /q /norestart
2017/7/10:20:22:47 USER_NAME PC_NAME .NET Framework Runtime 4.6 return code: 3010
2017/7/10:20:22:47 USER_NAME PC_NAME Install .NET Framework Runtime 4.6 Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603
2017/7/10:20:22:48 USER_NAME PC_NAME Rollback Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1619
2017/7/10:20:22:48 USER_NAME PC_NAME Rollback Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1619
2017/7/10:20:22:48 USER_NAME PC_NAME Rollback Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) Failed Failure is ignored, Result=1619
2017/7/10:20:22:48 USER_NAME PC_NAME Rollback Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) Failed Failure is ignored, Result=1619

I replaced my user name with "USER_NAME" and my pc name with "PC_NAME"

Does anybody know what the problem is? "Failed Installation aborted, Result=1619" is not the most specific user error I must say..

8 GB or more recommended.

when was the last time you update your windows? because a lot of them update are out of date that is probably why max won't install make sure you are logon as the admin? i would  recommend updating widows your VGA card and make sure you are downloading the 64 bit and not the 32 bit one.

Thanks for your help, but the installation log clearly states that the problem has to do with microsofts runtime enginge for c++ applications coded in visual stuido, so i strongly doubt any of your suggestions would help.

There is no reason to be offended.

I am a computer scientist and know a fair bit about Microsofts Visual Studio. What bothers me is the error code as it doesn't tell me anything about the issue. There is no way for me to contact the support, yet the application only gives me error codes to work with. If there is no lookup table for error codes available or developers on the forum who have more insight this problem seems quite impossible to solve

"4. Microsoft C++

Your software depends on many Windows prerequisite. When the prerequisite installation failed, the installation will not continue. The most frequent prerequisite that failed is Microsoft Visual C++. Try to check the installation log file if you can find line similar like this:

Rollback Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64) Failed Failure is ignored, Result=1619

If you see it, you need to uninstall all Microsoft Visual C++ in your computer. You may see different versions of Microsoft Visual C++, uninstall them all. After you complete, try to install the product again."

thanks, mate

Actually the 1619 error or C++ is not your issue at all..  The real issue is the 1603 error related to the .net frameworkSmiley Wink

Update:  And you are using an unreliable method (web installer) to install your product.  Smiley Happy
