3DS MAX for windows 10 64bit

Hello,

I've been trying to instal 3DS MAX on my computer, but it keeps failing. After looking it up, I couldn't find a version for windows 10 (Student version/free trial). Is there any version or do I have to re-instal windows 7 to get 3DS Max?

Thank you in advance,

Ana Fonseca

Hello @Anonymous

You should have no problem installing 3ds MAX 2016 on Windows 10.  It may be more challengin for 2015.  The following link describes our Windows 10 support:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-civil-3d/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Windows-10-support-for-Autodesk-products.html

If you happen to be installing 2015 perhaps the following link may be helpful:

If you also have Windows 10, be sure to have every update. That solved the problem for me!

I just bought a new computer with Windows 10 and AMD FirePro W7100.

I install 3Ds Max 2016 from my student account and the software crash every 2 min. or so.

I also had problem with my W7100 and photoshop but after letting Windows install the drivers I solve the problem.

But still the same with 3DS Max.

The only way I found to avoid 3ds to crash is to change the drivers in the viewport from Nitrous Direct3d 11 change to Legacy Direct 3D.

From what I can see on different forrum, I'm not the only one with that issue.

Please help and try to solve the issue with AMD.

Thanks

You are applying the Engineering program to a 3ds Max question.  I don't see the relevance

Changing the viewport driver "solve" the issue.

3DS Max doesn't crash every 2 minute.

You sent links for products other than 3ds Max.  Do you have a fix for downloading the free student version of 3ds Max on a Windows 10 OS?

My computer is new and has windows 10. I'm unable to install 3ds Max. After 30 minutes to an hour it would tell me the product failed to install. I'm not sure how everyone else was able to install 3ds Max if they had windows 10. Any suggestions would be great because I do need the program.

To install all software on WIndows 10, I had to turn off the AVG anti-virus software.

If I have a fix?

3DS Max Student version is the same as the regular version. Just free for student who are officialy register in a school and studying 3D, like I do.

I study 3D modelling and visual effects production at Humber College in Toronto, Canada.

I turned off my firewall and that still didn't help. It told me the product failed to install.

I have installed both updates Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2. But it would tell me the upgrade patch cannot be installed.

i really can't figure out what to do, iv'e tried to uninstall the 2010-2013 silverlight versions and reinstall  them with the autodesk installer for the 3ds max program. i have got the student trial pack and i can't seem to figure out what to do, i have searched the forums all over the internett for days now and i am very close to give up... i have some awesome ideas and i would really like to make them come to life. (i need it for school) i have tried to install it in the browser, the 64 bit version because i have windows 10 with 64 operative system and yeah... i have runed it as the administrator. i do not have a lot of information about the components and versions of stuff but here is a list of something i've got (i have a laptop)

Lenovo z51-70 (the name of the computer)
- AMD radeon graphics
- intel inside core i5-5200 cpu 2.20 ghz
- full hd 1920x1080
-  Windows 10 Home version 1511
- Ram 8 GB
- 1TB memory

Don't know if this have something to do with it, the computer is relatively new and i have not made any major changes to it or installed a hole lot of anti-virus programs. (i have only got ccleaner) i've installed all the latest updates. i have a medium knowledge about computers (not coding) And i would really love and appreciate to get some help over here because i'm about to go mad.
