Yearly Maintenance/Support Renewal

Although this does not surprise me in the least, it begs the question.

Renewal time for Inventor. I purchase thru CDW Canada, and have renewed this item twice before for previous years.

Today I go to do the same thing, however, someone in there in finite wisdom decided that xxx-xxxxxxxx / 797L1 is now a depreciated item. (July 1st) Brilliant, just brilliant.

OMG, so what now brown cow?? what is the part number I need in place of this expired one??

Aha..Im see the forum did not allow the part number to be displayed. it is NOT a license key....its a PART number that is PUBLIC information.

I did not notice that, so no point in posting here as no one is going to know what I am talking about.

I will try to contact support. (heavy sigh..)

Took a screenshot instead to bypass forum blocking numbers and letters.

Same question, what is the new part number that Autodesk has dreamed up to replace this one?

I know you are talking about Inventor product but this is not an Inventor issue and you should be using the Installation and Licensing forum for this https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/bd-p/24   I will have the moderator relocate your posting there to best suit your needs.   In addition these forums are merely user based and you should never share any of your licensing information here..   Yes it may be a common number but for security reason it should be shared here.   Also we have no clue why it may had been discontinued, we are only users...    Go to Autodesk AVA (ava.autodesk.com) and type chat with an agent and follow the steps to your Autodesk Account.   Also have you checked your Autodesk Account?   What does it state in there?

I contacted support. They gave me another part number.

I input that into CDW Canada. Nothing listed. Still dead in the water.

I am on a fools errand I guess.

I replied to support that this is new part number is not listed and to try again.

We will see.

Dead in the water that you can't use your product (Inventor)?  Or dead in the water that you can't renew your maintenance plan?

Ohhh..I see even more brilliance from this then. You say to go to that address https://sso.synergis.com for question regarding licensing. Well...I don't even have any login credentials for whoever these dudes are. How is anyone supposed to know who synergy is?? It is NOT an Autodesk site. so where do I get credentials to log into it?

Another mystery I suspect. Lets go around in circles a little linger shall we.

dead in the water because Autodesk cannot provide a valid part number (for CDW Canada) to renew maintenance and support.

Basic stuff we do every darn year.

Odd one!!!!   That's a clipboard paste from my job and has nothing to do with my reply to you..   I was just linking the installation and licensing forum.  https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/bd-p/24

Sorry about that or to confuse you more...

No worries. I new the moment I started this process it was going to be ugly. Everything to do with Autodesk is always this way, nothing is ever simple or easy.

I will persevere with support and hope they can assist. So far...I am batting zero.

Nope...that part number is NOT listed there. Sure there are 10 others, but not the part number I purchased last year, the year before that and the year before that.

What I am asking is which of those are equal to what it used to be.

Also I will tag my AUtodesk contact @natasha.l from the installation and licensing forum.   Not sure if she will be able to assist or not or like @Frederick_Law  states you may have to go to CDW about this.
