Vault 2014 basic server for students

I am currently in school, we have several group projects involving inventor. I'd like to set up a Vault server.

Is there a version of Vault server for students? A Vault baisc client comes with the student version of Inventor already.

If there isn't Vault for students, what is the best way for a team to work together? We currently share a google drive folder, and we take turns working on the project. I imagine it would mess up our project file if multiple people are making parts, and drawings at the same time?

Thanks

I should note, I have looked here: http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/product-design-manufacturing

and vault server is not availible there, maybe it is bundled with one of the programs?

Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Autodesk Community!

If you have Vault Basic Client with Inventor, you should have Vault Basic Server as well. They are bundled together under Tools & Utilities of the installer. You might want to reinstall the product and select both Client & Server during the installation.

I just ran the installer again for Inventor 2014 Professional, and there is no Vault installer under tools and utilities. It seems that Vault basic client installed automatically with the standard inventor installation.

I have attached an image of the "tools and utilities" installation options.

OK. Please try redownloading Inventor from our Virtual Agent (click on Download Links, choose product and version). Then reinstall the product and see if this helps.

This link is what I was looking for. It's odd that i've used the Virtual Agent before and it prompted to login to Autodesk Subsription, where this one does not.

Thanks alot
