Using Student version in Company without commercial usage

Hello to all,

So my question here is simple. Despite studying i'm currently at a company in an internship. I would like to train my inventor skills and i would like to know if i can use my inventor student license there. Nothing of what i'll do will be used for commercial benifit, as all of my assigned works were already made and it's just for me to learn, replicate and understand.

Thank you in advance for the reply.

Welcome to the Autodesk Community.

Installing a student version on a company computers or in a company is a violation and the company can be fined by Autodesk.  Please do not do this...

Update:  Also kudos to you for asking before just doing it..  😁

Edit: Mark beat me to it whilst typing this.

Advice: Don't. Whilst you aren't doing anything commercial putting it near their system is just a very bad idea as the educational metadata will 'dirty' their files which can leave them with massive fines should they be auditted.

Leave your educational license away from your internship and leave it at home and practice there instead just keep commercial files and educational files very far away.

The way I read it..  OP is working at a company doing  something and wants to use their Inventor student license while there.  Meaning the company may not even have Inventor or Autodesk products installed..   😁   Okay my 2 cents...

Thank you for your feedback! At the moment the company does have inventor licenses, just not enough for me to have one i guess!😅 Just asked because until now i have just been doing somes 3D's from paper since i had my student version, so no mixing with their sistem involved, but also they have licenses for 2014 and i use 2020, and it's never conected to any mutual server, so it was just for training with the Inventor tools! Still, the best option here is to actually tell them that and if no license is available for me then just opt out of internship due to lack of conditions, there is a lot of fish in the sea! I actually want to learn but not by violating any terms! Will keep learning at home tho!

Thank you for the quick reply and eye opener, before i had done something stupid in the long run 😁
