Unresolved Error, Cannot Activate License, Cannot Submit Service Request

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am getting an error when I attempt to activate my license that says I need to contact customer service (with a link to contact). When I click that link I get another error. I cannot find anywhere else on the site to submit a customer service request, and I cannot progress past the error to use the product.

Please help.

The error message says:

"Thanks for initiating your product activation. The system encountered a problem registering or activating your product. Please submit your registration information to us in a Customer Service request and an Autodesk representative will contact you."

Hello mljohns and welcome to the Autodesk community!

If you’re having trouble with the activation email, please note that sometimes the email can be accidentally routed to your spam or junk folder. Please check there.

Also, please note that you should be able to access your download and activation information by logging into Autodesk Accounts.

If you cannot access software in your account and need to download it now, please go to the Virtual Agent.

If none of those items helped, please submit a support request as follows:

Students should request to have the confirmation email resent via this form.

If you are having trouble with your Autodesk Account or an eStore purchase, please visit our order support page where you will be able to chat with a representative or submit a support request.

this reply is useless. I met same error while was activating. when I chose account I receive this "Thanks for initiating your product activation. The system encountered a problem registering or activating your product. Please submit your registration information to us in a Customer Service request and an Autodesk representative will contact you." but if I go by that link - I receive another error - this is absolutely webform error.maybe itdepends on Explorer version or whatever. there's no SUBMIT value in that form 😃

Use the Autodesk Register Once link in my signature and log in using your Autodesk ID..  Follow the steps and you should be able to activate your software unless its a desktop subscription/rental/term...   In that case activation is through your Autodesk Account.

Also make sure you have your request code handy because the Register Once site will ask for it.

Thanks for the response. I followed your Register Once link and entered my serial number and was met with the exact same error. The Customer Service link from that page also does not open for me (though no error from that link, the link just does nothing).

@Anonymous

Sorry to hear my steps didn't resolve your issue.

I'm accepted your reply as a solution since a few others have reported this problem as well and I'm going to assume Autodesk is having an issues at this point.  However since this is a user forum we have no access to fix the issue.   Hopefully on Monday this issue will be addressed and resolved.

I managed to get past this error by removing my account and creating a new one (using the exact same information, including same username). I am not sure why that worked, it was not an intuitive step, but my license is now active.
