Timeout obtain network license

Hi,

our clients need a very long time to obtain a network license. It takes 4 minutes until Autodesk Inventor 2013 starts and I had to set the environment-variable FLEXLM_TIMEOUT with value 1000000.

Without FLEXLM_TIMEOUT the FlexLM License Finder Window occurs and I have to type in the license-server manually.

Is there a possibility to accelerate this behaviour? Or why the client can't find the license server in a short time?

We use Autodesk Education Design Academy Suite 2013. The license server uses Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. The client uses Windows XP SP3 32 Bit.

Make sure there are no servers that are searched for that does not exists. Check ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable, 

Windows registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FLEXlm License Manager\ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE,

, LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable and Licpath.loc (located in the root installation folder of the product).

To avoid extra hops in the search add your license server in the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable and if you have multiple servers add the closest one first in the list.

In the Windows registry

still was entries for Inventor 2010 and 2009. This caused the error.
