The license manager is not working

This issue is driving me crazy. The license manager is working, but Revit is utterly dysfunctional and broken. Tried all the solutions in the forum, installed the patch for the license manager, ect. Tried clean re-installs and restarts. No luck. Please help. Why doesn't this software work out of the box?

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

Can you confirm what version of the 2020 license manager you have?   See this article to determine..

Currently have the version of the licensing verification in the blog post. Or is the software still using the old version somehow?

No problem just checking to ensure you have the latest..

Reset the license using @TravisNave batch file as outline here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/how-to-reset-autodesk-2020-licensing/td-p/8699...

Is "The license manager is not functioning..." the only error message that comes up or is there a different one that comes up first?

Do you have only Revit 2020 installed or do you have some other 2020 Autodesk software installed? Is it experiencing the same issue?

I'm guessing you've reviewed these articles?: 1, 2

One thing to check... when you're in the Services app, right-click on the Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service and go to Properties > Log On tab. Make sure the logon is set to Local Service account (the second option) and check that Local Service account has FULL CONTROL permissions to the following folders on your PC:

- C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing
- C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdskLicensingService

The script key reset allowed me to choose from single license and multi-user license instead of not working at all, allowing me to pick from multi-user or single user, but then reverted to the same error message when I chose a single user license. Same error message as the original post. I have reviewed both posts, but am still running into this really stubborn error.

Is your Revit license based on a serial # activation or sign in/ID method?

License is a company account with 5 seats, verification through sign-in of Autodesk ID.

Thank you for the help. Autodesk really needs to patch these issues out. A co-worker suggested downloading a Revit trial and signing in using my Autodesk ID (that has the single-seat sign-in verification license associated to it) for the verification to work. It appears to have worked, as Revit 2020 is starting now.
