Subject: Issue: AdskLicensingInstaller.exe does not install or appear in Programs and Features

Hello Autodesk Support,

I am experiencing persistent issues with the installation of the Autodesk Licensing Service using the official AdskLicensingInstaller.zip provided by your website.
Despite multiple attempts, the installation does not launch, no window appears, and the software does not show up in Programs and Features.

Here are the steps I have performed:

  1. Downloaded the latest AdskLicensingInstaller-win ZIP file from the official Autodesk Support center (November 2025).

  2. Extracted the ZIP file to my Desktop and ensured “Unblock” was applied in file properties.

  3. Ran AdskLicensing-installer.exe as Administrator (right-click > Run as administrator).

  4. Made sure Windows Installer service is running (included screenshot).

  5. Ran Windows system file checker (sfc /scan now from an Administrator Command Prompt) – Windows found and automatically repaired corrupted files (included screenshot), restarted the computer afterwards.

  6. Disabled antivirus and background protections during installation attempt.

  7. Verified sufficient disk space and user account full admin permissions.

  8. Tried different download locations and repeated attempts after restart.

  9. Checked for log files (install.log, setup.log) – none were produced.

Results/Problem:

  • No installation window launches.

  • No new Autodesk Licensing Service entry appears in Programs and Features.

  • No relevant error or log file is created.

  • Other software installations work (such as 7-Zip), so Windows Installer is generally functioning.

I have attached screenshots to demonstrate my system status and steps taken.

Could you please advise why the AdskLicensingInstaller is not installing, why there is no visible process, and what could be causing this silent failure?
Is there an alternate installer, additional system prerequisite, or a technical solution you can offer?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi!

I would stop the service before installing.

Set the windows user account control to the minimum level

Try again...

Q:

Why not install it via Autodesk Access?

Thanks for all your offers. i tried them all thoroughly a few times. What did eventually help was creating a new Windows account and downloading Maya there. It resulted in having the downloaded Maya available and operating on my regular and "problematic" Windows account without having to download it again.

Thanks a lot!

Looks like step 2 and 3 are the problem. Is the user unpacking the ZIP file the same user as executing the installer? I suspect not. So if you unpack the ZIP file onto someone's desktop, it's stored in the User Profile for that user. Now when you launch the installer as Administrator. it looks at it's own Desktop for the files and doesn't find any, since they are in someone else's desktop. So either unpack the ZIP file in a location accessible for any user or have the Admin account do the unpacking as well.

In short: use the Admin account to both unzip and install.
