Serial Number Won't Work

AutoCadLT 2016 Commercial Product Subscription

New Single-User

Annual Advanced Support

Non-Language Specific Windows

------------------------------------------------

IT Manager purchased this through CDW and tasked me with installing it for a user. Had to dig up old info for our AutoCad login (hadn't been used in a while) and reset the pass to get in. After remoting in to the user, I navigated my way to installation page and got things started.

After download manager installed, it prompted me for Serial# and Prod Key which I entered successfully (using info e-mailed to me from my manager that he in turn received from Autodesk). After opening AutoCad for the first time, it stops during the first-run intialization process and asks for a Serial# and Prod Key. However that field is already entered with the stuff I put in previously and it won't let me continue. It said to ask the administrator for permission or enter another key.

What?????

It sounds like you have a desktop subscription so the application has to be assigned to your Autodesk ID by the contract manager.  But I'm assuming right now unless I see the screen you're seeing.  If you do post an image make sure it doesn't include any personal info like your serial #.

As you can see below, the serial number and key are entered but it's treating it like it's been used. The ONLY time I've entered this code before was during the install of thise (right after it completed in the Download Manager). My manager sent me an e-mail with like a 32-character Activation Code but I see nowhere here or on the Autodesk site to input that. Thank you for any and all help!

You have a desktop subscription so the contract manager for your subscription has to assign the product to you.

UPDATE:  @dpsupport  Activation of your product is actually done through your Autodesk ID...

Am I to click the "Sign in as Different User" when loading the AutoCad program and re-enter my Autodesk credentials or is this permission management handled through the Autdesk site? I apologize for being a complete noob to this.

I logged in to the AutoDesk account with the ID here on their website and it's telling me that under MANAGEMENT there will be a USERS button that I can assign the permission to. As expected, there is no USERS icon or option on my screen.

My first question would be are you the contract manager for your Company's subscription?  If not then you have to contact that person and they must sign in and assign the product to you.   Only the contract manager can do this.

My manager told me he purchased this through CDW and his contact there has AutoCad Pro support. Once I work through the issue there I will respond with (hopefully) a solution. Thank you for the help so far.

an update:

Apparently this was the first time we bought a subscription-based license through CDW and somehow, some way, the license for this was sent to my manager's e-mail (even though he never signed up with AutoDesk directly). He never logged in to set-up an account so I, using this current account whos credentials were found on our knowledgebase, logged in to find very limited access. This account, for instance, didn't have the Users or Devices buttons under the Management section.

Our CDW contact got in touch with AutoDesk pro support and they migrated the license over to this account. Now I can manage Users and Devices. The particular user I am trying to finish this installtion for is notoroiously hard to get a hold of but since the final matter on this is validating that Serial/Prod Key, I'm assuming this matter is resolved.

Thank you for the help!
