Dear all, if nothing from above and outside helps you, please try to "repair" all the Visual C++. It has worked for me. Many thanks @Anonymous

Hello,

I had the same problem.

Here's the solution, at least for me.

. Uninstall Revit.

. Uninstall all Microsoft Visual C++, even the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015.

. Reinstall Revit.

I am having this issue sporadically and randomly. Launching again fixes the problem until next time. I do not want to do a complete reinstall of Revit and solutions offered so far do not seem consistent with the nature of the problem. Any more thoughts?

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

Autodesk is currently experiencing issues with generating serial #s (as of Friday)..  It hasn't been resolved and its the weekend so nothing is going to fix until next week.  Just run the product in a 30 day trial until the issue is resolved and a new serial # is issued to you.

Thank you!! This worked. Both Revit 2017 and 2018 were fixed with this suggestion.
