Processor Speed preference

Hi, Im in the market for a laptop and was wondering if it was nessesary

for me to get a quad core processor versus a dual core. I mostly do mat painting

and enviormantal modeling. I dont care so much about how fast the batch renders

go but rather how quick and well the render view window goes. And obviously how fast

the pc holds up working with a large amount of polys. any help would be awesome 🙂

Basically, any new laptop will come with a quad- or hex-core processor.  Dual cores are, at this point, almost obsolete.  Under ideal circumstances you want as many cores as possible, running with the highest clock speed possible.  You also need sufficient RAM, a decent video card, and a good sized SSD drive as well.
