Problem with installation

Hi everyone!

I downloaded autocad and everything was ok, I changed something that i didn´t know how to remove it, so I eliminated the program to install it again. The problem becomes when I try to install it again, that it says that i have the program installed and i can´t download and install it again. Please it is so important because I have an exam tomorrow and without the program, I can´t do it.

Thank you

Hello @Anonymous,

When this occurs it is recommended that you complete a clean uninstall of your previous installation.

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation & use the Microsoft Troubleshooter Tool to complete it
  2. Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background
  3. Log in as Administrator (check your permissions, full control) or create a new profile
  4. Make sure you have an uninterrupted high-speed connection to the internet & try adjusting your  LAN  & proxy settings etc.
  5. Clean up the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the search bar by the Windows Start Menu and hit Enter, then delete unnecessary (Windows)
  6. Temporarily disable/disconnect security features such as Antivirus, Firewall, VPN & UAC on your Windows operating system.
  7. Apply the latest Autodesk Licensing Service Update & Single Sign On Component (2020 & up). Then restart the computer and test the product.
  8. Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)
  9. Visit your Autodesk Account & apply all product updates

Uninstall Autodesk products

For most Windows-based Autodesk products, the process of uninstallation can be handled through the Windows Control Panel.

  1. Open the Control Panel. The process may be different, depending on your Windows version.
  2. Select Uninstall a program (Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10) or Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP).
  3. Uninstall peripheral applications from smallest to largest. Select a program and click Uninstall/Change.

Example: Before you uninstall 3DS Max Design, you should first uninstall the FBX add-in for 3DS Max Design and any other related add-ins. This also applies to modules such as the VBA enabler, Subscription Advantage packs, and Autodesk material libraries.

Note about Material Libraries: These libraries are shared across all Autodesk products and should not be removed unless you are removing all Autodesk products from the system. Uninstall from largest to smallest. Uninstall the medium resolution image library followed by the base resolution image library and then the Autodesk material library.

  4. After add-in applications are uninstalled, select the main product to be uninstalled.
  5. Click Uninstall/Change (Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10) or Change/Remove (Windows XP).
  6. Click Uninstall and click Next to confirm that you want to remove the product from your computer. (If you are prompted to remove shared files, click Yes to All.)
  7. After the Uninstall is complete, click Finish to close the installer.

Note: The uninstall procedure for some Autodesk products may require you to restart the computer when the uninstall has completed. If this is the case, restart the computer as instructed and return to the Control Panel to continue removing any remaining Autodesk products.

Thanks and Regards,

Rushabh Thakkar.
