Plotter Manager not responding

Hi,

Since installation of Autocad Architecture 2015 student version v7.7.49.0 on my 64 bit HP probook 4720s (4Gb)

invoking the Plotter manager results in the Autocad application not responding any longer!

Also trying to print or accessing thru the Application Menu gives the same result.

However in my Control Panel of my pc I can see that the Autocad Plotter Manager has been installed

and it refers to C:\Program Data\Autodesk\aca2015\enu\plotters

where all the .pc3 files and the wizard are present

It seems like if the link between the Autocad application and the Plotter manager does not work

Invoking the Plotter manager or trying to print hasn't ever worked since installation.

As a student I'm not very well familiar with installing and re-installing the product

and I would prefer not to re-install everything, as I would loose all the settings done meanwhile.

Has anybody encountered the same problem or can someone please tell me how to fix this problem?

I need to be able to create a pdf from my drawings.

Thank you very much

Andreas Duren.

Win10? Not supported.

Otherwise reinstall ACA2015 and see if that helps: answer yes to replace all files when prompted.

No, I'm running under Windows 7 Professional SP1

Reinstalling and loosing all my options/preferences might be a solution but if possible, I would like to avoid it.

Someone interested in the dump-file to analyse this problem?

Have you checked the shortcut path in the Plotter Manager shortcut you refer to, make sure it's pointing at the right version? Go to properties to find out.

You may have over customised and referred to an older version of the shortcut in your options.

Sounds logic.

Where can I find the place where the link/shortcut path between ACA2015 and the Plotter Manager is defined?

Hi @Anonymous

If you open AutoCAD, Select the Application Button (Big 'A') then select Print > Manage Plotters and it should open the location where the 'Add-A-Plotter Wizard' is. Right click the shortcut and go to Properties... check the Target and Start In Location. Make sure they are the same version as the version your running.

For instance, im running 2016 so these are the paths...

Target = "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\addplwiz.exe" /LANGUAGE en-US

Start In = "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2016\Plotters\"

You could simply search for Add-A-Plotter Wizard in Windows Explorer.

As your having issues trying to get into this, you might want to check the following path... this is the default location but i think your previous post referred to another.

C:\Users\Duncan\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD ****\R20.1\enu\Plotters (**** being the version)

Also it might be worth checking your options...

Usually AutoCAD will hang if a path cannot be found or a path is wrong, fix the paths and everything will work.

Regards,

Duncan
