NEED HELP INSTALLING MULTIPLE VERSIONS FOR STAND ALONE SUBSCRIPTION

So having multiple problems.

I purchased a monthly subscription of building design suite premium primarily to use Revit.

Here are my system specs:

I installed version 2016 of Revit ran it fine license activated etc. Then I found out I need 2014 for one of my clients. Installed it but when I tried to activate it would not let me. Chatted with support for a while and she said I installed it as a network license. I used the (fastest) browser download which it never asked me how to install it as network or stand alone. So now I want to uninstall and reinstall as stand alone, well it won't let me uninstall it now. So I tried to just install over it, maybe repair it and now my serial number won't even take so I can't get that stage. Please someone help me cause this is just out of hand.

Thanks

You'll need to convert Revit to Standalone...

  1. Navigate to the registry editor and browse to:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2014\ADLM
  2. Change the Type key value to 2
  3. Browse to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2014\
  4. Open the LicConfig.ini file with Notepad
  5. Change the following within the file and save the file:
    • Type=standalone
  6. Save & Exit the file
  7. Start Revit

Hi Darin,

So I got to the registry but I do not see ADLM when I expand 2014. I see where it is for 2016. See screenshot below:

If you have Revit 2014 installed, you should see that registry key. If not, you'll need to uninstall and reinstall Revit 2014.

That is one of my problems, I can't even uninstall 2014 in order to do that. I tried using the uninstall utility from Autodesk and also remove programs built into windows.

@Anonymous Use the Cleanup Utility link in my signature below. Once downloaded and installed, open the application and uninstall the application from their. Once that's complete, you will need to reset the permissions within the registry using the following process:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Components

  1. Launch REGEDIT
  2. Navigate to the registry key displayed above
  3. Right click on Components and select Permissions…
  4. Click the Advanced button
  5. Select the Owner tab
  6. Under Change owner to: select Administrators (Group) and click Apply.
  7. Then select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box and click Apply.
  8. Go to the Permissions tab, select the check box Replace all child objects Permissions with inheritable permissions from this object, and click apply. Note that the wording maybe a slightly different depending on your operating system.
  9. Run the installation again.
