Meshmixer Installer not starting

Hello everyone,
I downloaded the Meshmixer Installer from the official site and tried installing it.
But even running as an admin the installer just doesn't open.

Searching through the forums I found one older post discribing the exact same situation I'm experiencing.

(same user, same problem, I guess)

 

Is the answer regarding meshmixer being discontinued in favour of Fusion360 still up to date? Just wondering because the Meshmixer Installer was updated just a few days ago, on 11/18/24, which normally doesn't happen with discontinued programs, right?

 

Anyway, any tips to get the installer running?

 

EDIT: Tried installing the same .exe on my Win11 notebook. Works. So... some unknown hickups with the local machine. Still, if anyone has an idea, please let me know. The notebooks is kinda slow to work with.
