Maya Licensing Rent

Hey there! I am on the student version of Maya. I would want to use a professional license so I can post my animations online for people to be able to see. I am not using the pro version because well I can't afford it. I could, however, afford probably a month of it. Could I switch to a pro license for about a month and do some animations, post them, and go back to a student license?  Some places don't let you do that so I just wanted to check.

Yeah you can do it however it may be wise to use a separate account for the pro account, just remember to reset your licensing when you switch between accounts.

In addition to @leowarren34 information..  You should never mix commercial license product installation on the same machine as educational license.

Update:  One more thing I forgot to add.  Anything you created in an educational versions has to be recreated from scratch in a commercial license in order to be shared publicly or to make any profit.

Ok. Got it. Thanks. Just out of curiosity, what would happen if I did mix them?

Mixing commercial and educational license on the same machine could lead to fines if Autodesk audited you..

If I deleted the student version from my device could I get it? Or does it absolutely have to be a new device?

Yes technically you could but you'd need to clear every trace of your edu license which may be more hassel than it's worth...
