Maya installation "Not enough disk space"

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

Just recently I've tried installing Maya. I use 3 Drives and my C drive (The default selected one for Maya) doesn't have enough disk space. I've tried sellecting my E and D drives as the installation directory. However whenever I press the install button it gives me an error saying my C drive doesn't have enough space.

After a brief research I've come across some other users with similar issues and tried the solution given to them and configure individual asset folders. But I get this screen and no loading happens.

Hello TailGunnner and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like you're seeing the following error message during install: "Out of disk space". The following thread should help you resolve the problem:

Out of disk space during installation to another disk drive

Are you using one of the Install Now options, or have you downloaded the installer?

Specifically which of the options have you tried?  Have you started with the basics, like cleaning out trash, temp, hibernation, and useless content?

Typically what's happening is the contents of the installer are decompressed to a temp folder on your system drive (C:) before installing, so unless you redirect there it can easily run out of room.  Regardless of where that temp folder is located though, the major system components will still need to reside on the system drive.  If I'm reading that right and you have only ~2 GB free space on a ~55 GB drive that's *really* short of space.
