Installing Civil 3D 2015 at later time

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have downloaded civil 3d 2015 trial version and when I went to install the program a message came up that I can't use my older version of AutoCAD 2004 while the program installs. So I chose the option to install at a later time so I can continue working with my 2004 version. How do I go back to the installation page without downloading it all over again (it takes a long time)? I can't find it.

Thanks,

Andy Seniska

Welcome to the community..

When Autodesk Products are installed that are installed as separate applications and it doesn't matter if you have AutoCAD 2004 installed on your machine.  However if you are current running AutoCAD 2004 when you install then you simply need to close the application, finish the install and then you are ready to go.

In addition where did you get your trial of Civil 3D 2015?   Please provide source?

Finally there's no need to share your personal email address either.  This is a world wide user forum and personal info shouldn't be shared here..  Smiley Wink

If you already tried downloading a trial of Civil 3D, it would not have been 2015 but instead the 2017 version. All product pages where you're able to download a "Trial" are listed as 2017. That being said, what are you trying to attempt here? Why uninstall a licensed version of the software for temporary install of 2015?

I hope you're trying to install an illegal copy...

Thanks, but I think you did not fully understand my question. First you go to the Autodesk free trial download page and download the product you want

(in my case it's Civil 3D 2015). After the program downloads it brings up an install page that lets you pick a button to install or close to install later.  I downloaded the trial version and did not want to install it right away because it takes a long time to install and I have work to do. How do I go back to the install page to install the program without having to download it again because that takes a long time too.

The link for the trial is: http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/autocad-civil-3d

Thanks,

Andy

You are trying to download the free educational license.  Its not a trial..  Thus the reason for @Darin.Green and my questions...  Trial is only for 30 days, the educational license is good for 3 years..   In the end you never said that you were getting the free educational license so how would we even know that was the case.  Smiley Wink

Download and install per:

1. Access the Autodesk Virtual Agent and follow the download links to your product.
2. Download all of the parts (some applications only have a single part to download) for your product first. Do not continue until all of the parts have fully downloaded.
3. Navigate to your download folder location and extract (double click) part _001_00X.sfx.exe (or the single file download).
4. In a few seconds the extraction will start and prompt you to extract to C:\Autodesk.
5. Once the extraction is finished, the installation will automatically start.
6. Follow the installation steps for your product

If you want the full recommended installation steps, click on the installation link in my signature.

However if the installation does fail using this method, please post your installation log file here so we can review it.  Posting info: Sometimes installation log files contain personal information such as your serial #.  Prior to posting your log file please make sure to remove such info.

Good luck on your installation and report back on your progress.
