Installing CentOS as multiboot?

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to set up my new PC (AMD Ryzen 5 1600, ASUS Prime B 350M-A, Geforce GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB RAM) with a multiboot (Win10 on 250GB SSD & CentOS 7.2 on 125GB SSD) to use Flame on the Linux-Partition.

I was able to install CentOS, but it won't boot.

I got the message "unknown hardware"

Any ieads how to fix this?

Hello @Anonymous, 

Welcome, I recommend that you reach out to the partition software manufacturer.

Although, please be aware that the only virtual environment used for Autodesk products is Citrix. Other remote desktop systems and virtual machine environments are not tested but may work fine with Autodesk products, including running an application from a virtual machine that is accessed remotely. Autodesk support is limited in providing help with these systems.

I'm not setting up a VE, it's a multiboot system with two SSDs.

Windows and the CentOS from the Flame Download page are installed on seperate drives. But CentOS seems not to be able to boot, instead it shows me just one line, like I wrote above.

Do you have an idea why this is happening?

It seems you are referring to Multi-boot or Dual-Booting with your System. This is still creating a partition on your operating system & you should reach out to an IT or operating system professional for assistance on this. Autodesk does not offer operating system/ set up related support, but maybe someone in the community can offer a suggestion.

Not sure if you have checked but I had issues installing CentOS until I took the bios out of EUFI mode and set it to 'Legacy' or your motherboards equivalent. Lots of Linux distro's suffer from this issue when installing.

Once you get it installed you can normally switch it back to EUFI and carry on as normal. Worth a try.
