Installing and Activating AutoCAD for Students

Hello, I am a Sustainable Building student at Salem Community College in NJ. I am having a bit of trouble with the Education program. I created an AutoDesk account, then navigated over to the free software offered to Students. I was able to download the installer, but received no email about a Product Key or Activation Code. I cannot complete the installation because there is no way for me to get past entering any numbers. Any help on where to go from here?

You need the Product Key and Serial Number to install, not the Activation Code - that comes later.

In any case, you should be able to install in 30-day trial mode while you locate these numbers.

I recommend to all of my students that they run in 30-day trial mode before activating simply to make sure all is working correctly.

And your personal Serial Number and the Product Key should be avialable on the student download page where you downloaded the software even if you somehow did not get the email (could it have been blocked as spam?).  So simply go back to where you downloaded and this time take note of, and record the numbers.

Does your school have a Student IT Help Desk that can help you download and install software?

Have your classmates been successful?

Where is your instructor?

My only issue with that is I got an error message about receiving those codes on the download page, asking me to try later. I checked my spam folder and even waited a whole day for the email, got nothing. My college does not have a license with AutoDesk, so I'm not sure how much my instructor could help. I will try and find a phone number for AutoDesk if anything.

Hi @Anonymous Sorry that you're having trouble with the student license. The current workaround is to create a new Education Community account using a different e-mail address and AutodeskID. Then try the download and installation again. Let us know if it works!

I was able to get both keys needed after re-registering with my .edu email. Thank you for the help, I look forward to using CAD!
