Installer Initialization Failed

Recently, I've been trying to install Revit since I need it for a school project, but every time I try to do it, I get the "Installer initialization failed" window. It always fails, and I always receive Error 1. I tried looking at the Registry Editor to follow any tips. I tried a clean uninstall and even uninstalling my AutoCad to see if that was causing problems. I even tried installing previous versions to see if it was an issue with the version, but none are working. Can anyone please help me with this? Now, I can't install Revit AND AutoCAD even though I had previously managed to install AutoCAD 2024.

I attached the windows that I've been getting when trying to install it

Odd, but that can happen.

In your Windows File Explorer, type this in the address bar

%TEMP%

This will take you to your login's TEMP folder where you will find log file(s) and perhaps the one you need if you sort by date. Share that here.

Oh, and by the way, if you have more than say 5000 objects in that folder it is time you tried to empty it as much as Windows will let you too (you cannot delete everything but you can safely remove a good portion of them).

On line 54 it says "Access is denied [system:5]". You need to be logged in as Administrator to perform installations.

The Windows Troubleshooter could be of help too.

Hi @epconde

Can you try using the full offline installers from the following:

This one is slightly different, but 3 different ones worry me, that it's someone on the PC blocking it.

What do you have for a firewall / anti-virus?

So let's look at a few things:

Do you have Admin rights on this PC?

Is your Anti-Virus / Firewall turned off?

Can you try this:

Can you clean out your %temp% folder

Clean out the C:\Autodesk folder of any prior Revit 2025 folders

Clean out the C:\Download (except my 2 downloads)

Turn off / or disable your firewall - antivirus.

After, right click on the first zip and run as admin and let it fully extract.

I am using Windows Defender only for my antivirus

I have admin rights

My anti-virus and my firewall in on

I already tried clearing out the %temp% folder, the autodesk folders, and the download folder

I will try out the turning off of the firewall and see if it will be installed

Can we also try running the Microsoft Fixit tool prior.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-r...

Lets also make sure if possible that you check and verify that you don't have any pending Windows updates.

I think I found the problem, I can't install ADSK Licensing Servives since I'm trying to install it first before Revit. I tried installing it but installing adsk licensing installer also says intaller failed to initialize

Can you share the error for this: I can't install ADSK Licensing Services.

And you have 100% full Admin rights on this PC?

I didn't see, is this a work PC or personal?
