Tried to install Maya for the first time today and this error message popped up.

Fatal error during installation.

#117: failed to run AdskExecuteSequence.

What does this error mean and how do I fix it?

Hello sharnold52 and welcome to the Autodesk community!

We noticed you were receiving a fatal error. The fatal error message can indicate several issues. A video card driver update will typically help with this, but fatal errors usually are generic errors, give these steps a try.

  1. Update to the latest certified graphics drivers & Adjust Global Setting to run it
  2. Check the system requirements for the software & make sure you have the required OS updates
  3. Verify the Microsoft Products (Visual C++, Libraries, .NET) properly installed by checking the install log or Control Panel (uninstall/reinstall)
  4. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall
  5. Download all of the parts Autodesk Virtual Agent & Re-Install the product

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome.

What download method did you try?

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall
  2. Prepare to Download & Install

  3. Use a Browser Download, download all of the parts in your Autodesk Account or Autodesk Virtual Agent

Thank you for posting to the community & let us know how it turns out.

I ended up figuring it out. Nothing else worked so I did a system restore, used the program that the bot gave me to do a clean uninstall... that did not end up deleting everything and I couldn't find it in the Uninstall a Program thing so I just looked up everything with Autodesk in the name and deleted all of that stuff. Then I clicked install now and it worked.
