Install errors

Hi All,

I did a little searching around the board and saw that I'm not the only person having the infamous C++ error. However, when I tried to download via the virtual agent, as suggested, I got the Autodesk Self Extract. When I try to extract, I now get an error that says "Product download consists of multiple files. At least one file is missing or has not been downloaded yet." Any suggestions?

Hello robert.maher_iii and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like you need to find out more about downloading or re-downloading software. You can download software from our Virtual Agent (click on Download Links, choose product and version). Please disable your firewall and anti-virus programs before downloading.

Have you tried to install it from the autodesk app in the taskbar? It worked for me when my install failed.

What do you mean by taskbar? I don't have an Autodesk app on my taskbar.

The autodesk utility AutodeskdesktopApp.exe that installs with Maya. It's
linked to your account and sends you information about updates and new
versions etc

Maybe I did the whole install wrong then, because I don't have that in my File Explorer. Can you walk me through it?

Will this work even if I have a student account?

I'm not sure if it is available to the student version. That could be
the reason you do not have it by default.

You could also try and delete the maya install folder in the temp
directory and force a full reinstall. (I was able to get past the c++
redist error that way)

Sorry, I meant I installed 3dsmax. I was able to get the desktop app easily and install 3dsmax, I think, but now I can't find 3dsmax
