How to connect my old account?

I just began a position at a new company with a new email, new microsoft accounts, and new autodesk license. How can I connect my old forum posts from my previous autodesk account?

Thanks in advance.

It makes sense that Autodesk would hide my previous content from me... right? Then insult me with a smarmy congratulations on posting for the first time ever?

You can log into your old autodesk account and go to the security page in the profile  (https://profile.autodesk.com/security) and change the email to your new email and keep using the same account for the forum posts.

This was the first thing I tried to do. However, it seems autodesk uses a microsoft account to verify identity. My old microsoft account is closed, and my new company has already set up an account with my new email.  I would happily delete the new account and use the old one if I could get into it.

I use a separate account for the forums with my personal email address so I can use it anywhere. I don't use the account at work with the autodesk license for forum use. Maybe you should set one up if you can't log into the old account anymore.

I ran into a situation like this about 8 years ago.  They couldn't/wouldn't merge the old account into my new one so I had to abandon an account I had for 10 yrs.  I'll never use a company account for a forum again.

Because of 2-factor authentification. Apparently Autodesk is concerned that someone might log in as me and... suggest a solution to something?

Both factors of ID were attached to my previous employer. So I cannot log in.

That's a common mistake we all made at some point then learned from it and  stopped using employer-specific logins anymore if we wanted to continue our presence here uninterrupted.

Unless you are on very good terms with your previous employer your wish to access your old account is a lost cause today.

I am marking this as "accept as solution" because ...it gives me the most closure and helps me feel better about my choices. Also Autodesk is pestering me to mark something as a solution. Thank you all for your contributions. There really is no solution to this except Autodesk allowing accounts to be merged.

Dean is right about it ..

but you don't have to mark it resolved if you don't feel it is the answer.

There isn't a way to merge it..

You could try and login into it and change the email associated with the account

Yep, I had the same issue about 2 years ago, left my employer to start my own biz, and wasn't able to access a bunch of Screencast videos I had made under that old acct. Had to recreate them all. Some were AU videos, etc.

Now, granted, I fully understand that some of those videos could be considered proprietary information of my former employer and I'm fine with that. I should have known to grab those needed videos beforehand.

But to be honest, all those I needed I knew well enough to recreate pretty quickly.

Anyway, I have probably a good half-dozen old accts here that I would have loved to combine.

Now, I just use this (my business acct) for most posts and my work acct which I seldom post under.
