Hello,
I’m trying to run Thermal Desktop inside AutoCAD 2024 (Windows 10, English version), but I’m encountering an issue every time I launch it.
When I start AutoCAD and open Thermal Desktop, I immediately receive this message:
"SHARED_LOC has not been set. You must run the Thermal Desktop Installer to complete the installation. This message from ThermalDesktop® ARX."
After the message appears, Thermal Desktop closes automatically (sometimes AutoCAD also closes), so I’m unable to use the add-on.
I downloaded Thermal Desktop for free and installed it following the standard installation steps, but it seems the program cannot locate SHARED_LOC or shared files path.
Things I’ve tried:
Restarting AutoCAD
Reinstalling Thermal Desktop
Running installer as Administrator
Checking load status of ARX file
But the issue still persists.
What I would like to know:
How can I set or fix the SHARED_LOC path properly?
Is this error caused by installation, registry, environment variables, or an AutoCAD support path issue?
Are there additional steps required to fully configure Thermal Desktop to run with AutoCAD 2024?
