Hey all, I've been attempting to install my Arnold license with Houdini and have had no luck so far. I've followed this: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/installation-licensing/quick-start-guide-for-configuring-lmtools/m-p/...
But haven't been able to figure out what is going on. Looking at task manager I see lmgrd.exe running but no adskflex.exe
All help is appreciated, thanks!

Welcome. 

I would try following the steps below & if you have any questions feel free to ask. 

1. Try taking a look at your license file verify the Host Name and Physical Address
2. Also be sure your license file is correct, you can get a new one by Generate a Network License File in Autodesk Account or Requesting a Network License File. The top of the license file should look like this with VENDOR adskflex....port=2080. 

 3. Make sure you meet the NLM requirements to Install & Configure it 

 4. Then, on each Client computer at launch, specify a License Server "2080@ServerName" 

 5. Be sure the NLM has been "Started"

Hi there, still no luck unfortunately.

When changing the environment variable it cannot seem to find the license server.

Just a shot in the dark; make sure the ports 2080 and 27000-27009 are not blocked by a firewall.

I have tried turning off my firewalls and restarting the server and that didn't seem to work either

Please try the following steps to check the server, NLM & the connectivity to & from the client to the server. 

1. Make sure to verify that the server is up & the service is running:

• Locate Lmtools  in C:\Autodesk \Network License Manager (folder)
• Make sure the current version of Lmtools 11.13.1.2 is installed
• Verify License File, MAC address & HostID with Lmtools System Settings Tab
• Config Service Tab > Make sure files are pathed correctly (lmgrd.exe, Lic. File.lic, Debug.log) > Save Service button
• Start/Stop/Reread Tab > Select FlexNet Service (should only be 1 Autodesk service) > Check Box Force Server Shutdown > Select Stop Server Button > Uncheck Box Force Server Shutdown > Start Server > Server Start Successful. (should appear below)
• Verify users are getting licenses if not...continue 

2. Then, also verify that client computers can connect to the server

• When you are experiencing difficulty pulling licensing from the network server verify the connectivity to the server from the computer(s) as described below:

            Using Internet Explorer to check if the ports used for licensing are open

            Microsoft Internet Explorer. Type the following into the browser: 

            http://your-server-name:2080

            http://your-server-name:27000

            The URL should  display something similar to the following:

             Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60Wê-60

• If you have a firewall between the license server(s) and the client computers, you need to open some TCP/IP ports on the server to relay license communication or due to other non-Autodesk Services. 

            Open port 2080 for adskflex, and open ports 27000 through 27009 for lmgrd.

            Or Bind a port to the license file 

3. Try to pull a license from the client computer

• Test the client computer & try to pull a license 
• Go to LMtools Server Status Tab > Perform Status Enquiry & check the licenses pulled
