Errno 2 on Install

Hello,

I currently use Fusion 360 on only my laptop. Every time I attempt to install it onto my desktop, the installation gets to around 99% and then throws the following error.

FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/Users/username/Applications/Autodesk Fusion 360.app/Contents'

I saw a similar forum post where the long username was the culprit, but I have the same exact OS and home folder name on the desktop as the laptop, and I have never had this issue on my laptop.

Any help in getting the software installed would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time

Sorry to hear but as far as I know this is related to a long path or folder naming structure (that exceeds the max number of characters allowed).

Are both of your machines the same MAC OS and versions?

Hello,
No. My laptop is running Catalina while my desktop is on High Sierra. However, I am just remembering that when I was just getting started Fusion worked for about a month on my desktop with High Sierra, and then just broke.

My username is only 11 characters long.

I have already tried cleaning the previous install and that’s not the issue.

Thank you for your time.
