Deploying AutoCAD 2022

Hello,

I've been deploying the Autodesk Suite for close to 15 years.  Things appear a little different this year, however.  Once I register my education account and choose my software, document the keys, register them, download the content, and run 'setup.exe' there is no longer a 'create deployment' in the GUI.  I looked at their recent documentation and it claims you can still do so, so what am I missing?

If I go to 'manage.autodesk.com' there is an option for Custom Install that looks somewhat like a web-version of the 'create deployment' option.  I'll run through that to see if it gives me what I need but it's weird the site hasn't been updated.

I ran into the same issue when I tried to run the 'setup.exe' (no 'create deployment' option). The 2022 versions do not show for me under my account at 'manage.autodesk.com' . Does your "Custom Install" section have anything? Mine shows a box with a lid off of it and says, "We’re adding products to deployments over time.". I wish things were as simple as they were with 2019.

Looks like this is the solution now, although it doesn't appear to allow
UNC path so after it creates the deployment you need to modify all of the
installer scripts manually.

Most 2022 products no longer have an "offline deployment wizard" included with the media. If your account has the Custom Install tab, you can create custom installs and deployments.

The online wizard creates the Image Creation Tool (~12MB) file that will download the deployment image to the location you specified in the wizard.     The batch file created with the image contains three sample command lines for installing with GUI, installing silently, and uninstalling the software.     The Summary Text contains all of the components included in your image as well as the GUIDs if needed for detection methods.    The online guide @ajuelich also contains information for SCCM deployments as well.

Older products which were released with the offline Deployment Wizard will still have the deployment wizard. For instance, a Revit 2020 deployment will still use the offline Deployment Wizard and not be available with the Online Wizard.

Thanks, that was helpful.  I do not, however, see all the items I need under 'Custom Install' though.  I am missing Inventor CAM 2022 and Alias Autostudio 2022.  Is there an easy way for me to add products there to do a custom install, or does it only support it on what it listed there?  If so, where is documentation on deploying these missing products?

I apologize - account and entitlement is a bit out of my area. Typically it should be controlled by the software coordinator for your account.  If entitlements are set correctly and it is still not there, please reach out to the reseller or Autodesk support so they can get the correct person involved!

That is my problem as well. The 2022 products I am registered for are not available under my account. I can only go to the manual download page .

Ya, I put in a Support Case to have a few products added so we will see what happens.  I'm not sure how items get in there by default.

I had to open up a case with Autodesk in order to get those products to show for me.
