Connecting BIM 360 projects between Subscription and Trial accounts

Hi,

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 and increased demand for work from home, we have been receiving several queries if Autodesk is planning to make any temporary exceptions (until May 31st) which will enable both paid and trial BIM 360 users to connect and collaborate on same projects?

Thanks!

Regards,

Syed

Hi @Anonymous  Good day to you!

Those participating in the trial program will be able to access any project that they are invited to, regardless of project owner. Hope this helps!

Hi Narisa,

Thanks for your response. However, in BIM 360 Design trial sign up page(https://bim360.autodesk.com/bim-360-design-trial/) it says as mentioned below:

"If you have a paid subscription of BIM 360 Docs, BIM 360 Glue, BIM 360 Build, and/or BIM 360 Design, your free BIM 360 Design trial account will NOT connect to existing paid hubs/sites of these products."

Could you please recheck and confirm so that I can start communicating the same with customers who are looking to get the trial benefits? Thanks!

Hello @Anonymous,

So do  I understand correctly that you are referring to BIM 360 Design and therefore are asking for people collaborating between the paid / trial version? If so I got this information for you:

Can I use the Program trial to collaborate with people who already own/use BIM 360 Design?

Yes, participating in this Program will allow you to access any project you are invited to, regardless of project owner. For more information on how this works, refer to this AKN article on bring your own subscription.

Please let me know if this was helpful by marking the post as solution. If not then feel free to add more details so I can try to clarify the things for you!

Hi @Anonymous,

so here is what I can officially give you at hand as of now. I really hope you can wait with the decision time.

Personally, I think Autodesk will be announcing the extended access programs for products shortly. To keep informed about that please have a close look on the COVID-19 Autodesk Resource center located >>here<< for all more and then product specific details soon.

Sorry I cannot be more concrete at that moment in time but stay tuned and when following the page above you should get once updated the information you are looking for. 🙂

Hi,

The trail FAQ you are referring to is talking about the account site or tenant. The trial account sites cannot be connected to sites connected to existing purchased subscriptions. But users who sign for the trial can access any project they've been invited under BYOS.
