Cannot install this product on the current operating system

Hi,

I had my Autodesk Desktop App pop up with the chance to install Autocad 2019 this morning. I duly clicked the link and was met with 'Cannot install this product on the current operating system. Please read system requirements for details'. The link goes to a 404 page https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-r... so no help there.

I am running the following:

  • i7-370 3.40GHz
  • 12.0Gb RAM
  • 2Tb HDD
  • x64
  • Windows 10 Pro

What can be causing this to not install? The serial number is for Autocad and not LT.

Thanks,

bigroo

First thing is..  Don't use the DESKOP APP to update.  That interface is just bloatware..

There's a couple of ways to properly download and install your Autodesk product to your machine.  Please review this article and the solution it provides.

If the installation does fail using the preferred methods, please post your installation log file here so we can review it.

Posting info: Sometimes the installation log file contains the serial # that was assigned to you.  Open your log file using Windows Notepad and perform a search on "/SN".  Depending on the number of installation attempts, your serial # may be located throughout the log file.  If present, remove or "X" out your serial # prior to posting.

Good luck on your installation and report back on your progress.

hi @Anonymous

Please use the following offline installer for 2019 AutoCAD

https://www.google.com/url?q=https://efulfillment.autodesk.com/NetSWDLD/2019/ACD/96312660-0124-4F96-A545-0581AD249871/SFX/AutoCAD_2019_English_Win_64bit_dlm.sfx.exe?authparam%3D1523511343_e662ea73f8d10e8d421878e4cccb14e8%26SESSION_ID%3D1521711343618%26ext%3D.exe&sa=D&source=hangouts&ust=1521854364444000&usg=AFQjCNEuiMkObQAJThIm5pYH90DPc4Bj_Q

I would also clean out the %temp% folder too. It's OK if everything doesn't get deleted, we want to get as much as possible. Turn ? off the UAC / Firewall / Anti-Virus

Did you by chance maybe picked the 32bit version?

Hello Mark,

I tried the browser download earlier and that didn't work, the same happened here too. I used IE, UAC off, AV software disabled, temp directory cleared out. Setup log file attached.

At this point this will tell me you don't have all the crucial Windows updates or your OS is messed up.  I would look to make sure you have all the required Windows updates.

This error indicates that you are currently running on an older build of Windows 10 that does not support the installation of .NET Framework 4.7, which is a required pre-requisites for many Autodesk 2019 products, including AutoCAD.  In order to install AutoCAD 2019, and many other Autodesk 2019 releases, you'll need to upgrade Windows 10 to version 1603 or higher.  You can check the current version of Windows 10 by running the WINVER command at the Run prompt.  This will display the About Windows dialog in which the current version is listed.

as @Mark.Lancaster was saying you need to update your Windows for 2019

You need to be at 1607 or higher:

Operating System
  • Microsoft® Windows® 7 SP1 with Update KB4019990 (32-bit & 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 8.1 with Update KB2919355 (32-bit & 64-bit)
  • Microsoft Windows 10 Anniversary Update (64-bit only) (version 1607 or higher)

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-r...

I would start with this ... update your Windows to 1607
