CANNOT. INSTALL. AUTOCAD LT on Windows 8.1

I have tried literally a dozen times to install AutoCAD LT 2016- then 2015- onto my new PC running Windows 8.1 After downloading, I get several error messages of all varieties. After uninstalling the program and then trying to reinstall, now I keep seeing a message saying the connection has been lost (though my internet is strong, and it's not the firewall, because I unblocked it.) It should NOT be this difficult to download a free trial. Looking for answers and help! Please!

Try the following:

A. Download ACAD LT 2016 installer from Autodesk Virtual Agent
1.go to http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/
2.click on ASK - this opens Autodesk Virtual Agent window
3.click on Download Links
4.click on AutoCAD Products
5.then on AutoCAD LT
6.select the appropriate product and click the link to download.

B. Install ACAD LT 2016 as follows:
1.Logon as an Administrator.
2.Empty your TEMP folder.  To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Explorer and hit Enter.
3.Disable your Antivirus software.
4.Disable UAC.

5.Install ACAD LT 2016.

Success! I was able to install 2013 LT. Thank you so much for the guidance! Any clarity on why it was so prohibitive to install before?

Glad to hear that your AutoCAD installation issue is resolved now.

There are few options to download an Autodesk product installer (see the link below), and the error  you were receiving typically relates to ‘Install Now’ method.

Downloading a product installer from Autodesk Virtual agent is the same as 'Browser Download' method.  It downloads the product installer self-extractor package and extract the package on your local system and installs it from there.  This is the slowest installation method, but from my experience works better than 'Install Now'.
